The Department of Physics Atmospheric Science (and its faculty members) have earned an outstanding international reputation for its accomplishments in both pure and applied research. Students have opportunities to immerse themselves in the current and developing cutting-edge world-class research activities using a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment housed in our materials growth and characterization facilities high-power computer clusters atmospheric observational facilities and medical imaging facilities.Physics Atmospheric Science encourages and fosters a multi-disciplinary and collaborative environment with other departments and Faculties within the University including (but not limited to) Chemistry Oceanography Engineering and Medicine as well as collaborations with external-to-the-University leaders in industry. The friendly knowledgeable faculty members and staff help promote a stimulating inclusive and social atmosphere in which students can enjoy learning exploring ideas and expanding horizons. Scholarships and other forms of financial support are available to graduate students.
