国际学生入学条件

Doctoral students must have an MS degree in EE or its equivalent, otherwise, the MS course requirements must be met (equivalent courses taken elsewhere can be counted toward this requirement subject to prior approval from the graduate chair).
PhD Applicants: Submit official GRE scores directly to the Graduate Division Student Services (ETS code for UHM is 4867)
Arrange three recommendation letters to be directly submitted
At minimum, the applicant needs to demonstrate above average academic performance (B average, usually a 3.0 on a 1.0-4.0 scale) for undergraduate course work and for any post-baccalaureate or graduate course work. A minimum TOEFL score of 500/61 (paper/internet) or IELTS overall band test result of 6.00 is required.

课程简介

The department has a long tradition of top notch research in information transmission, storage, and processing. The research produced the well known ALOHA network, the first wireless packet network, in the 1970s. Research areas include wireless communications, information theory, channel coding, information security, magnetic recording, network optimization, control theory, game theory, source coding, machine learning, and ad hoc sensor networks. Recently, researchers in this group combined with faculty in Information and Computer Science (ICS) and Mathematics to form the Coding, Communications, Networks, and Security (COCONETS) Lab. This research is focused on collaborative and multidisciplinary research and education projects in the above stated areas.
