With a choice of six different areas of emphasis, this major is flexible and allows individuals to choose their emphasis to fit their own strengths and interests. Our program's curriculum accurately reflects the needs and growth opportunities in the field of graphic communications. Through class assignments, technology training, internship opportunities, and capstone class experiences, students learn from experienced faculty and industry experts to become proficient in one of the world's biggest industriesthe world of graphics. Today's companies and organizations require dynamic graphic communications leaders to take advantage of the expanding opportunities available, the Department of Graphics and Imaging Technologies, Graphic Communications major is designed to prepare students for these opportunities. Our program's classes cover a multitude of graphics related careers, allowing students interested in many areas of graphics, from the artistic to business side, to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their chosen emphasis. The Bachelor of Science in Technology degree is offered with a major in Graphic Communications. Students select an area of emphasis based on their area of interest from one of the following choices: Graphic Design, Photography & Videography, Print Media & Packaging Design, and UX/UI & Web Design. Career opportunities vary depending upon the emphasis area but may include creative, technical, supervisory or management careers. The curriculum stresses the application of the technical aspects of graphics to the solution of practical problems. A foundation in a core set of graphics courses is complimented by advanced study in the chosen area of emphasis. Total 120 hours for a Bachelor of Science in Technology Degree.
