Complete a B.F.A. or B.A. in art from a university other than UAF (or from UAF with special permission from the Art Department faculty), or complete one consecutive year of classes from an accredited M.F.A. program other than UAF. In cases where an exceptional portfolio is submitted, students with another undergraduate degree will be accepted provisionally and with the condition that they make up any deficiencies as determined by their graduate committee.

In general, applicants may be admitted to a graduate program if they have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with at least a 3.0 (B) cumulative undergraduate GPA and a 3.0 (B) GPA in their major. The Office of Admissions requires official transcripts of all college-level coursework. To be considered official, transcripts must arrive in sealed envelopes or by a secure electronic service from each institution attended. IELTS score of 6.5, TOEFL IBT score of 79.

课程简介

The printmaking program offers courses in Beginning through Advanced and Graduate Printmaking, Relief (linoleum and woodblock), Intaglio (etching, engraving and drypoint), Lithography, Silkscreen, Photo-Processes and Monotypes and Monoprints. Students are encouraged to develop their aesthetics through exploring imagery, colors and various printmaking techniques as well as exploration into the many possibilities used in combination to make prints. The studio has two etching presses, one combination lithography & etching press and a relief/etching press and a variety of hand and power tools to create plates and blocks for the presses. The print shop uses a ferric chloride solution in a vertical etching tank and has access to a computer and a state of the art laser platemaker for photo-process techniques.
