All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published (where applicable) or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
AQF Cert IV,
Successfully completed 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent),
Undergraduate Certificate,
Special Tertiary Admissions Test,
University Preparation Course,
Indigenous University Orientation Course,
Aboriginal University Readiness Assessment, or
Experience Based Entry Scheme.
International Baccalaureate Diploma - Minimum of 24 points (Minimum of 28 points for Law), consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level & 3 subsidiary level
IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.0 (no individual band less than 6.0),
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition - Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17.
TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) - Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better.

Focuses on the practical and theoretical dimensions of information technology, and prepares students for careers in the fields of information technology, IT management and cyber security. The course places an emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving alongside discipline knowledge and skills, providing students with the opportunity to undertake complex information technology projects both independently and in teams. Students are introduced to concepts including programming, mathematics, networking, databases and cyber security in their foundation year, before developing advanced skills in information technology, including web development, data management and visualisation in an enterprise context, IT security management and project management.<br><br>Course learning outcomes<br>Apply broad knowledge of concepts, principles and techniques in the discipline of information technology, including management, processing and communication of data.<br>Interpret and analyse complex information technology problems using systems thinking, design thinking and systems analysis.<br>Apply discipline knowledge, problem solving and creative thinking skills to anticipate challenges and produce solutions to contemporary IT problems.<br>Demonstrate technological literacy by finding, evaluating and using relevant tools and information from a range of sources.<br>Communicate IT knowledge and ideas clearly and coherently to technical and non-technical audiences.<br>Apply an understanding of diversity and a global outlook, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders perspectives, when designing information systems.<br>Work collaboratively and demonstrate initiative on complex IT projects with consideration of professional ethics.<br>Demonstrate autonomous and ongoing learning in the discipline of Information technology to ensure continued relevance of skills and knowledge.
