The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.

All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published (where applicable) or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
AQF Cert IV,
Successfully completed 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent),
Undergraduate Certificate,
Special Tertiary Admissions Test,*
University Preparation Course,*
Indigenous University Orientation Course,*
Aboriginal University Readiness Assessment, or*
Experience Based Entry Scheme.
International Baccalaureate Diploma - Minimum of 24 points (Minimum of 28 points for Law), consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level & 3 subsidiary level
IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.0 (no individual band less than 6.0),
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition - Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17.
TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) - Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better.

This major focuses on both the practical and theoretical dimensions of cyber security across a range of fundamental areas. These include network security and vulnerability assessment, information security, digital forensics, cryptography and ethical hacking.<br><br>Learning Outcomes<br>Apply broad knowledge of concepts, principles and techniques in the discipline of cyber security, including network security and risk management.<br>Analyse complex cyber security scenarios and incidents to design appropriate strategies to reduce, mitigate or respond to risk.<br>Apply discipline knowledge, problem solving and creative thinking skills when undertaking cyber security engagements.<br>Demonstrate technological literacy by finding, evaluating and using relevant tools and information from a range of sources.<br>Communicate cyber security concepts and implications clearly and coherently to technical and non-technical audiences.<br>Integrate concepts of diversity and a global outlook when undertaking cyber security engagements.<br>Demonstrate an appreciation of the conventions and requirements for external collaboration when undertaking cyber security tasks.<br>Demonstrate autonomous and ongoing learning to ensure continued relevance of capabilities, knowledge and awareness of emerging cyber security developments.
