The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.

All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published (where applicable) or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
AQF Cert IV,
Successfully completed 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent),
Undergraduate Certificate,
Special Tertiary Admissions Test,
University Preparation Course,
Indigenous University Orientation Course,
Aboriginal University Readiness Assessment, or
Experience Based Entry Scheme.
All applicants are required to have a final School letter grade of C or higher in ATAR Mathematics Methods (Year 11), or successful completion of MAT1108 Foundations of Mathematics, with equivalents considered.
International Baccalaureate Diploma - Minimum of 24 points (Minimum of 28 points for Law), consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level & 3 subsidiary level
IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.0 (no individual band less than 6.0)
TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition - Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17. (Results are valid for two years only).
TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) - Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better. (Results are valid for two years only)

Focuses on the numeracy and analytical repertoire of graduates.Graduates will gain statistical expertise in analysing and visualising simple and complex data sets from a variety of sources such as disease markers, genomic and transcriptomic data and business data sets. Graduates will be competitive in the data science job market as it is implemented in computing, business and sciences.<br><br>Learning Outcomes<br>Apply broad discipline knowledge to a range of theoretical and practical big data situations.<br>Analyse theoretical models and data using a range of data science approaches.<br>Draw conclusions from statistical models to generate solutions to data problems.<br>Use statistical software packages and databases to investigate and solve problems in data science contexts.<br>Communicate data science knowledge and ideas clearly, coherently and with independence.<br>Incorporate diverse perspectives into scientific practice, applying a global outlook and including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural perspectives.<br>Work collaboratively with others, encompassing social, sustainable and ethical values into scientific practice.<br>Apply own learning to professional practice.
