Option 1:
Applicants who have attended some post-secondary school. This includes students who have completed the WE program.
Option 2:
Applicants who have no post-secondary experience, but have three or more years working in Adult Education or related experience.
Applicants must meet the Degree/diploma level English language proficiency requirement. For details on how this requirement may be met, see the English language proficiency requirement section of the calendar.
One of the following:
Completion of a minimum of nine credits in courses numbered at the 100 level and above, with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.67 (B- average) on all credits attempted,
Completion of a minimum of 30 credits in courses numbered at the 100 level and above, with a CGPA of 2.00 (C average) on all credits attempted, or
Completion of the Workplace Education associate certificate.
The Adult Education department will also consider applications from working professionals with at least three years of significant and relevant Adult Education or related experience, even though they may not possess the required GPA, course grades, or course currency necessary for entry into the degree program. The department will exercise its discretion in such cases and, where warranted, accept students on a conditional basis.
Students accepted to the program under this applicant category will be required by the department to support their application by submitting a r'sum and/or letters of reference to the program advisor, as determined by the department.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) IBT score of 88 with no section below 20, or paper-based score of 570 with a TWE (essay) score of 4.5 or higher.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Academic format score of at least 6.5., with no band score less than 6.0.
MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) score of at least 85.
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) score of at least 70.

Develop your skills as an adult educator through UFV's Bachelor of Arts in Adult Education a mid-career professional development program.<br><br>Tailor your studies to fit your busy schedule. All courses are online with the exception of a few classroom sessions, with video conference access if you are a distance student. The Bachelor of Arts in Adult Education program is completely flexible and allows you to:<br><br>Study part-time or full time<br>Choose online courses on a rotating schedule<br>Take evening and Saturday classes<br>Earn credit for prior learning, including from non-traditional settings<br>Start your studies by reviewing the foundations of adult education and e-learning. Round up your first 60 credits through a combination of UFV coursework, transfer credit, and Prior Learning Assessment.<br><br>To earn your upper-level credits, you explore instructional design, adult education theory, and elective topics that fit your interests. All courses pair practical and theoretical coursework with real-life workplace experiences.<br><br>Near the end of your Bachelor of Arts in Adult Education degree, solidify your knowledge through three capstone courses where you explore your passions, synthesize your learning, and apply reflective techniques.
