Meet the minimum requirement of 2.0 cumulative High School Grade Point Average or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for consideration.
EMU uses a test-optional admissions model for first-year admission.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.75 or higher will not be required to submit a standardized test score.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5-2.74 will be considered test-optional. Upon review of application and academic history, standardized test scores may be requested if required.
At student with a cumulative high school of 2.49 and below will be required to submit a test score.
Official transcripts are required for all admission consideration

The geographic perspective allows you to understand our interdependent world and our fragile habitat. It provides you with the skills needed to understand the nature and implications of geopolitical, economic, environmental, and cultural shifts in different parts of the world. It allows you to develop the tools for finding solutions to environmental, regional, and international problems. Equips you with the knowledge to explore biophysical changes shaping the planet. Prepares you to understand and apply maps and cutting-edge geospatial technologies to solving the most pressing human and environmental issues of the 21st century. Students may study in a broadly based general degree program or one that emphasizes environmental studies. The degree may be fine-tuned toward prospective educators. Specialize in GIS, Physical Geography, Human Geography, Regional Geography, and Secondary Education. Concentrations of study include Geo-tourism, Historic Preservation, Urban Planning, Environmental Studies/Analysis, Cartography, and Remote Sensing. Studying Geography may lead to careers in the following: Business and Industry, Geo-Tourism, Geographic Information Science, Geospatial-Intelligence, Local, State and Federal Government, Secondary Education - Teaching, Sustainable Development and Environmental Sustainability, Transportation Geography, or Urban and Regional Development
