Order an official transcript sent to yourself for each institution you have attended and taken over 12 units. Unseal and open the envelope, then scan and upload the official transcript created by your university. Repeat this step as needed until all official transcripts are uploaded.
Request at least 3 Letters of Recommendation. Letters must arrive electronically via your online application. You will be asked to supply the name, email address, and current institution/company of each recommender.
Upload your Statement of Purpose, Personal Contributions/Achievements, and Resume/CV.
Upload a Writing Sample (Optional).
completed an undergraduate or graduate degree at an institution whose primary language of instruction is English. The minimum score for consideration is 550 when taking the paper-based TOEFL, or 80 when taking the internet-based test, some departments require a higher score. Applicants must make arrangements to take the TOEFL directly with ETS (www.ets.org). Scores should be reported to UCSB using institution code 4835. TOEFL scores must be no more than two years old at the time of application submission. UCSB also considers a minimal score of 7 on the IELTS as an alternative to the TOEFL. IELTS scores must be no more than two years old at the time of application submission

The Department of Education in the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education (GGSE) prepares researchers, scholar practitioners, teacher educators, and educational leaders for positions in universities, school districts, community agencies, and the private sector. We have seven different research focus areas: Culture and Development, Language and Literacy, Learning, Culture and Technology Studies, Policy, Leadership and Research Methods, Science and Mathematics Education, Special Education, Disability and Risk Studies, and Teacher Education and Professional Development.
