When applying to the Educational Research, M.S. program, you will need to submit several documents for review.

Two Letters of Recommendation (identify your recommenders on the application)
Official Transcript: minimum 2.5 undergraduate GPA required for admission

Applicants who completed their baccalaureate degree outside of the United States are subject to additional application requirements. International credentials must be equivalent to a U.S. four-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. We understand that in some countries, because of a natural disaster or political strife, it is difficult to get an original transcript. In addition, if English is not the primary language, official TOEFL or IETLS scores must be submitted to Georgia State University. TOEFL scores should be submitted using school code 5251 and IETLS scores can be submitted by selecting Georgia State University Graduate Admissions. Applicants must submit a minimum TOEFL score of 79 or a minimum IETLS score of 6.5 for graduate admission. Applicants who completed a degree within the United States, will not be required to take the English proficiency exam. For additional questions regarding international credentials, please contact your college admission advisor directly.

Our educational research and mental health counseling dual degree program combines educational research and the application of educational research methodology to a content area in mental health counseling. You will meet faculty who are leaders in the field and find opportunities for research and field experience that are an enhancement to each of these academic programs. The program leads to a master of science degree with majors in educational research and mental health counseling. Graduates of the program have increased career opportunities within academia and the work setting.
