课程简介
The Bachelor of Science in Education degree with an Adolescent/Young Adult (AYA) Integrated Science major provides graduates with the opportunity to teach in 7-12th grade schools in all the major science disciplines (biology, chemistry, earth science, and physics) while concentrating in one science area. Candidates are exposed to state-of-the-art teaching methods and science/math courses as well as teaching in diverse settings, taking English Language Learner (ELL) methods, experiencing elective Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education methods, and engaging in real world scientific research as part of their program. The Integrated Science major requires a series of courses in the major science area of your choice as well as a solid background in the other science areas. This major prepares you to teach any course offered in the science department of a junior or senior high school. Some Science Education majors combine teacher licensure with an Arts and Science major. Additionally, students who obtain additional education may choose to pursue roles in educational administration.

The majority of the science education majors enter Miami University with an abundant number of Advanced Placement credit hours thus enabling them more flexibility in scheduling their courses. The current science education programs have similar required credit hours and the students have been able to graduate in four years. We dont foresee students having difficulty in managing this degree in a four-year period of time.
