Equips school leaders in designing strategies and pedagogies for improvement in the learning of mathematics. Graduates of the program become leaders in addressing issues of equity in math education, making connections to community and leadership, and making data-based arguments to advance the field. Students in this program are passionate about mathematics. They strive towards improving P-20 math education, seeing it as a critical function society. Become a member of the next mathematics education EdD cohort to become a leader who is ready to: <br>Engage with award-winning faculty, national grant-making organizations like the National Science Foundation, and the program's district partners on identified problems of practice and policy, Work extensively with teachers and other educators to support transformation in the teaching and practice of math education to support student achievement , Address issues of equity in math education and reimage learning environments that broaden participation in the discipline, Utilize data on the design and evaluation of professional development interventions , Explore diverse data sources for strategic planning and decision-making , Culminate the program with a doctoral research project dissertation.<br>The EdD program is a practice-based, doctoral-level program for professional leadership in PK-20 and community-based education and other organizational contexts. The EdD prepares leaders to address complex educational challenges, effectively translate research into practice, influence policy, use data in decision-making, and organize individuals and groups to address challenges collaboratively and successfully. The EdD program's equity-focus equips educational leaders to recognize, identify, and eliminate those systems that create disparities, and improve policy, structures, and practices to ensure opportunities and participation for all individuals.<br>Mathematics Education concentration provides learning opportunities for education professionals focused on teacher learning and professional development experiences. Faculty and students investigate how interventions used in professional development for mathematics teachers impact their content knowledge and pedagogical practices in their classrooms. The coursework uses a situated perspective of learning and incorporates mixed methods to address research questions about interventions that support teacher and student learning.
