Statement of Purpose
Applicants must submit official transcripts for all undergraduate and any graduate work. To be eligible for admission, your transcript must show an earned bachelor's degree or a bachelor's degree in progress. Certified copies of transcripts are acceptable, faxed copies of transcripts are not considered official. If you attended Loyola University Chicago previously, you do not need to request transcripts, we have them on record. Transcripts must show a GPA of at least a 3.0.
In exceptional cases, applicants whose undergraduate GPA is below 3.0 may be admitted. Each program area gives meaningful consideration to the applicant's graduate GPA, GRE scores, recommendations, professional experience and reasons for pursuing a graduate program, as well as to the diversity of the student body. An applicant for admission must ordinarily hold (or receive prior to matriculation) a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. In addition, because academic qualifications are of major importance, the applicant ordinarily must have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. If you have non-U.S. educational credentials, you are required to submit your official education credentials (e.g., transcripts, mark sheets, degree certificates, graduation diplomas) and evaluation fee directly to any NACES member companies.
For the TOEFL, a minimum score of 79 on the iBT or a 550 on the written test is required.
For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.0 is required.

In the program, we'll challenge you to approach research from a social justice lens, using data to highlight the systematic and personal characteristics that contribute to disparitiesand then leveraging your findings to offset them and effect positive change.<br>In Loyola's master's program in research methodology, you'll learn how to leverage data to challenge inequities and create change in communities and organizations. You'll use the latest research techniques to approach social and organizational challenges and study alongside PhD-level students in many of your courses, preparing you for doctoral-level work and several other career paths.<br>Following the MA in Research Methodology program, youll be able to work in many fields, such as education, public health, medical fields, developmental psychology, and clinical psychology.
