UTSA's Spanish degree is designed to develop a specialized knowledge of Hispanic culture, literature and language. Studying the Spanish language leads to a greater appreciation of Hispanic art and culture, and enhances your travel experiences throughout Central and South America and Europe. Bilingualism opens the door to several career opportunities as many firms seek employees who can speak both Spanish and English. Additionally, many occupational fields are in need of professional translators and interpreters including healthcare, law, government, military, law enforcement and education. The Signature Experience, included in the required thirty-nine hours, serves as a peak in the student's educational program by providing various opportunities in which to display or practice knowledge gained at UTSA.
