Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, from an approved institution.

To qualify for unconditional admission, applicants must satisfy the following minimum criteria:

1. Have a minimum grade-point average of B (3.0) on the undergraduate record, and

2. Have a minimum total score of 300 on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and a minimum score of 3.0 on the analytical writing portion. For the English, Nursing, and Public Affairs programs, applicants must have a minimum total score of 410 on the MAT

A UAH History MA prepares you for a variety of growing fields, like Management Analyst, Lawyer, Postsecondary Teacher, Technical Writer, Paralegal or Legal Assistant, Archivist, and positions like secondary school teacher (needed in Alabama and Huntsville), technical or career education, or education administrator. Our faculty conduct and publish original research in their areas of expertise. Professors will get to know you and your work because our graduate seminars are small. Your professors will help you locate internships, complete your own research, improve in analysis, and grow as a writer and clear communicator–all skills modern employers desire in employees.
