Required Degree - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or have proof of equivalent training at a foreign institution.
Minimum GPA - 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) Departments may consider GPA of last 60 semester credit hours
Coursework - 18 credit hours in an area related to this graduate degree and at least 12 hours must be at the upper-division level.
Transcripts - Required from all institutions attended, international transcripts must be recorded/translated to English
Credential Evaluation - Required if you have earned university-level credit from foreign institutions. Submit an evaluation of your transcripts from Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) directly from the graduate admission application platform
English Language Proficiency - 550 TOEFL Paper / 79 TOEFL Internet / 6.5 IELTS

The Master of Arts degree in Art History offers students the opportunity for advanced study in the field of art history with deep exploration into the history and culture of art. The degree is designed to prepare students for an art history teaching career at the junior-college level, other arts-related professions or to serve as a basis for entering doctoral studies.<br>The Art History program provides an opportunity to gain strong foundations while specializing in historical and cultural arenas in the history of art. The curriculum prepares students for active participation in the diverse contexts of contemporary culture and society, and our students possess skills for careers that value facility with critical and creative research and thinking. They flourish in curatorial and administrative careers in an array of arts and cultural institutions, as well as a variety of professions rooted in the liberal arts.<br>The Master of Arts (MA) degree in Art History provides students with the opportunity to gain an academic and theoretical foundation and to specialize in a range of historical and cultural arenas in the history of art. Students work closely with engaged faculty who specialize in Art of the Americas from ancient to the present, as well as Museum Studies. The program provides students with the opportunity to engage with diverse cultural histories, artists, artisans, patrons, institutions, methods, materials, styles, and critical, practical, and aesthetic considerations. Coursework provides instruction and development opportunities in traditional literary scholarship, hands-on investigations and fieldwork, cutting-edge digital research and presentation technologies, interdisciplinary analysis, critical thinking, writing, discussion, and exhibition practices. The degree is designed to prepare students for careers in museums, in public or private arts programs, as teachers at the community college level, in other arts-related careers, or to serve as a basis for pursuing a doctoral degree.
