If you are curious about the past and you want to learn about the world, history is the major for you. Majoring in history helps prepare you for your future. You'll learn to convey information to diverse audiences, to do collaborative work and independent research, to question creatively, to read closely, to think critically, and to write effectively. You'll do a capstone project where you might write the history of a topic you choose, do an internship in a museum or archive, or learn to present history with digital and web-based tools that you can take with you into you career. We offer a very flexibile curriculum, allowing you to choose different types of courses and specializations, including history for teachers, public histories, U.S. history, world history, and global affairs.
