A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or its equivalent from a foreign institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in all work attempted in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study. Official transcripts from all attended institutions. A typewritten essay of three to five double-spaced pages describing your career goals and areas of historical interest. Three letters of recommendation. At least one of the letters should come from a former or current history professor. A writing sample on a historical topic (An undergraduate paper will suffice.) The GRE is not required for admission. A minimum TOEFL score of 500 paper-based (61 internet-based) for all applicants. A band score of 6.5 on the University of Cambridge IELTS (International English Language Testing System), band scores range from 9 high to 1 low, 6.5 lies between 6 “competent user” and 7 “good user”.
