The undergraduate major in History leads to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. The major is broadly conceived to include all aspects of human development and heritage: political, social, economic and cultural. The undergraduate major in History has sufficient General Elective hours to enable completion of a minor.<br><br>Students who plan to teach history and/or government at the secondary school level should select the History major with teaching certification. For additional information, contact the HSH Office of Advising.<br><br>There are no specific prerequisites for admission to this major other than a strong academic record and a lively interest in how ideas, institutions, societies and individuals change and have changed over time.
