Essay - If you are to be considered for admission through holistic review, submission of essay A on ApplyTexas or any open prompt on Common App is highly encouraged.
Letters of Recommendation - If you are to be considered for admission through holistic review, two letters of recommendations are highly encouraged.

UTSA's History program combines the development of informed perspectives, analytical skills, and mastery of content areas that cover the United States and different regions in the world to study a wide range of historical persons, events and time periods. A major in History teaches a student to write effectively and expressively, to think critically, to analyze arguments, and to communicate ideas. These skills will aid in the pursuit of a career in a variety of fields.<br>At UTSA, you can earn a History degree with an optional concentration in Social Studies. Concentrations are declared after youve been admitted and have met with your academic advisor. The signature experience is encapsulated in HIS 4143 History Standards and Their Public Reception. This course reviews the ongoing debates over the content of history curriculum in the schools among historians, educators, and the public.
