Entry is based on bachelor qualification or higher. English language requirements must also be met.

If you are an international applicant who wants to study on campus in Australia:

You will need to meet both the Academic and English Language Requirements to gain admission into this course. Meeting academic requirements means we review what you have already studied to see if you have the results needed for admission to your preferred course.

This course is offered under five admission rules.

Rule A: You have completed a four-year pre-service teaching qualification (AQF Level 7 or overseas equivalent).
If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule A. Please see the Rule A Course Structures (Programs of Study).

Rule B: You have completed a Bachelor qualification (AQF Level 7) and a one or two-year pre-service teaching qualification (AQF Level 8 or 9) or overseas equivalent.
If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule B. Please see the Rule B Course Structures (Programs of Study).

Rule C: You have completed one of the following UNE AQF Level 8 qualifications:*

Graduate Certificate in eLearning
Graduate Certificate in Digital Learning
Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Comparative Education)
Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Gifted and Talented: Teaching for High Potential)
Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Literature and New Literacies)
Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
Graduate Certificate in Gifted and Talented Education
Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Australian Education
Graduate Certificate in International Schooling, Education and Development
Graduate Certificate in School Leadership
Graduate Certificate in Special Education
Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule C. Please see the Rule C Course Structures (Programs of Study).

Rule D: You have completed the UNE Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (AQF Level 8).
If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule D. Please see the Rule D Course Structures (Programs of Study).

Rule G: You meet ALL of the following entry requirements:

You have completed a four-year pre-service teaching qualification (AQF Level 7) or a Bachelor qualification (AQF Level 7) and a one or two-year pre-service teaching qualification (AQF Level 8 or 9) or overseas equivalents
AND you have a minimum of three years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) professional experience as a middle leader, head teacher, or other senior leadership role in a school context.
If you are admitted on this basis, you will be eligible for admission under Rule G.

An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 7.0 with no sub-bands less than 6.5,
TOEFL score of at least 91 in the internet-based test with a minimum score of 22 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and a minimum of 25 in Writing),
