This degree offers a broad based study programme examining both contemporary and traditional views of education, with a questioning approach rooted in inclusion and a desire for social justice.<br><br>The course is designed to appeal strongly to changemakers, those students who want to make a difference to people's life chances and who seek a holistic approach to education. Many also find themselves changed by this holistic approach as they examine education through a range of lenses - philosophical, sociological and psychological for example. Some expertise in these disciplines, plus an understanding of economics and pedagogy, are essential to gaining a full picture of what education is, its purpose and its possibilities.<br><br>It's this breadth of study that differentiates BA Education Studies from teacher training degrees, although some of our graduates do go on to complete a PGCE Primary course to become classroom teachers. Other career outcomes for our graduates may include working with children with special educational needs, working in a museum as an educator, youth work, or professional coaching in a private organisation.
