Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. For this course, applicants must have completed two years of the Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Education (C10350) at an appropriate level. The following requirements also apply: applicants must have at least a credit grade point average by the end of second year of the Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Education (C10350), applicants must submit a 500 word written expression of interest indicating a possible research topic and their reasons for applying for Honours, the applicant's chosen research topic must fit in with one of the research programs, appropriately qualified staff must be available to supervise the Honours component. Entry to Honours is competitive as only a limited number of students are accepted. Honours candidates are ranked in terms of academic merit over the first two years of Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Education (C10350), and the fit of topic with a research program. The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 7.5 overall, with a minimum of 8.0 in both the speaking and listening modules, and a reading and writing score of 7.0, or TOEFL: paper based: 610-633 overall with TWE of 5.0, internet based: 102-109 overall with a writing score of 27, or CAE: 191-199 overall with 200 in both the speaking and listening, and a reading and writing score of 185. Successful completion of International Baccalaureate Diploma Program subjects English A: literature or English A: language and literature, where the Diploma Program was taught in a language other than English
