The following course-specific admission requirements are mandatory and must be satisfied by all applicants. These requirements are in addition to or supersede the minimum requirements outlined within the Academic admission requirements band section below.
All applicants are required to satisfy non-academic criteria, in addition to satisfying academic entry criteria. Applicants' non-academic capabilities will be assessed based on completion of a Non-Academic Requirements for Teacher Entry (NARTE) online questionnaire.

All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published (where applicable) or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:
AQF Cert IV,
Successfully completed 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent),
Undergraduate Certificate,
Special Tertiary Admissions Test,
University Preparation Course,
Indigenous University Orientation Course,
Aboriginal University Readiness Assessment, or
Experience Based Entry Scheme.
International Baccalaureate Diploma - Minimum of 24 points (Minimum of 28 points for Law), consisting of aggregate from 3 higher level & 3 subsidiary level
International students must attain an IELTS Academic with an average level of 7.5 or more, across the four components of listening, speaking, reading and writing, no score below level 7.0 in any of these components, and a score of 8.0 or more in the components of speaking and listening. Internationally schooled applicants may also be required to meet this requirement.

Focuses on teaching processes, content and skills that will equip students to teach social science subjects. Students aiming to fill specialist social sciences teaching roles in senior secondary (Years 11 and 12) can elect to specialise in Modern History, Geography, Economics, Accounting and Finance, Business Management and Enterprise, and Politics and Law. Emphasis is given to inquiry-based practical work, demonstrations, independent and co-operative group learning, whole class discussions, and use of information communication technology to ensure effective teaching and learning practices in secondary Humanities and Social Sciences. Units in this program address key social science understandings and provide the content knowledge, skills and values needed to address the demands and opportunities of Humanities and Social Sciences in secondary schools.<br><br>Learning Outcomes<br>Adapt knowledge and skills in diverse contexts to create positive learning environments in social science.<br>Communicate knowledge and ideas clearly in both written and oral formats.<br>Critically reflect using accredited standards, mentor feedback and the ECA Code of Ethics to demonstrate responsibility and accountability and plan for continued collaborative and autonomous professional learning and development.<br>Demonstrate broad and coherent knowledge of social science and the Australian curriculum and teaching strategies for social science teaching in secondary education.<br>Demonstrate leadership, exercise professional judgement and collaborate to plan, problem solve and make decisions in social science.<br>Exercise critical thinking and judgement to plan and implement social science programs for a range of students with diverse abilities and needs, and assess the outcomes.<br>Review analyse and synthesise knowledge of teaching strategies to plan for the content of social science teaching.
