Degree requirements
A second-class honours degree, or international equivalent.

Degree must include:

120 SCQF credits in history. 80 of these SCQF credits should come from at least one of the following subjects:
British history
Scottish history
European history
World history
a maximum of 40 SCQF credits from ancient history is acceptable

IELTS - 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)
TOEFL ibt - 80 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component-(Listening- 17, Reading- 18, Speaking- 20, Writing- 18)

As a teacher of history, you’ll bring the past to life and teach your pupils how historical events can be interpreted in a variety of ways sparking passionate debate and the development of a range of skills. Full support will be given throughout the course by an experienced history specialist to enhance your classroom practice. The course sets you up for a successful teaching career regardless of your chosen destination. This course is a professional training course which qualifies you to teach secondary education. The qualification is recognised throughout the world and is regulated by - the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), the Scottish Government.<br><br>UCAS code: 7X53
