An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with at least a credit (60%) average. Admission into the course is competitive and may require a higher overall average than the minimum requirement.
Students applying for the dual-sector Early Childhood and Primary Education specialisation must have at least one year of full-time equivalent study relevant to one or more learning areas of the primary school curriculum.
Students applying for the Primary Education specialisation must have at least one year of full-time equivalent study relevant to one or more learning areas of the primary school curriculum.
Students applying for the Primary and Secondary Education specialisation must have at least one year of full-time equivalent study relevant to one or more learning areas of the primary school curriculum and at least a major study in one secondary teaching area.
Students applying for the Secondary Education specialisation must have appropriate discipline studies to qualify for two teaching specialist areas or one double teaching specialist area with at least a major study in one secondary teaching area and a second teaching area comprising at least a minor study
IELTS (Academic): 7.0 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening: 7.5, Reading: 7.0, Writing 7.0 and Speaking 7.5
TOEFL internet-based test: 102 Overall score, with minimum scores: Reading 24, Listening 27, Speaking 24 and Writing 27

This specialisation will prepare you to teach adolescents (12–18 years of age) in secondary schools from Year 7 to Year 12 in two teaching areas. You will actively engage with contemporary theories, concepts and practices of secondary education. You will develop inclusive teaching and learning practices to meet a diverse range of adolescents' cognitive, social and emotional needs, while building a repertoire of strategies to manage their learning in classroom settings.You will engage in the development and evaluation of various teaching approaches relevant to adolescent learning.You will develop specialist expertise in curriculum and pedagogy up to VCE-equivalent level and you will qualify as a specialist teacher in two discipline areas; your major and minor study sequence from your undergraduate studies will determine your specialist areas as a secondary teacher. Throughout the course, you will focus on understanding that how adolescents learn is as varied as the individual learner themselves, and you will develop adaptive and inclusive teaching practices to respond effectively to learner needs.
