A UK 2:1 honours degree or its international equivalent, in the subject to be taught is preferred. This qualification should contain at least two graduating courses (80 UK credits) in the relevant subject. Some subjects will consider a broader range of degree content, so please check the subject-specific entry requirements below.
SQA Higher English at grade C or above (or equivalent) or GCSE English (Language) and English Literature both at C or above.
SQA National 5 Mathematics or Applications of Mathematics (formerly Lifeskills Maths) at grade C or above, GCSE Mathematics at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
To be considered for PGDE Art and Design, applicants must have a degree that contains at least 80 credits in Art and Design. It is essential that the degree includes substantial studio-based practical experience.

Entry to the Art and Design programme is competitive as it is a popular course and in most cases, successful applicants will have full Honours degrees (at 2:1 or above) in an Art and Design related discipline. Applicants without Honours degrees may find that their application does not progress beyond the first stage of application screening, however, exceptions are made for applicants with degrees predating Honours.
IELTS: total 6.5 (at least 6.0 in each module)
TOEFL-iBT (including Special Home Edition): total 92 (at least 20 in each module). We do not accept TOEFL MyBest Score to meet our English language requirements.
