The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers courses in pure and applied mathematics leading to the degree of Master of Science in Mathematics. The Master of Science in Mathematics addresses the needs of professionals in the Washington, DC metropolitan area who are interested in pursuing an advanced degree. We have both full-time and part-time students. Many classes are offered in the evening to accommodate students who are working full-time or part-time outside of our program. The program offers both a standard mathematics track and an emphasis in computational and applied mathematics.This program provides exciting opportunities for students interested in studying advanced mathematics.A limited number of merit-based teaching assistantships are available for students taking at least 6 graduate credits each semester. Other sources of support, such as research assistantships, are available as funding permits.
