English Language Exam Scores (if applicable): TOEFL Internet-Based Test (IBT) total score of 80, or TOEFL Paper-Based Test (PBT) total score of 550, or IELTS Overall Band score of 7.
TSE (Test of Spoken English) is also recommended for applicants (who are taking the Paper-based TOEFL), whose native language is not English
A list of mathematics courses taken, including descriptions and a reference to the text used (submitted in the online application)
Final/Official transcripts will be required for all applicants who are admitted and have indicated their intent to enroll at UC Santa Barbara by submitting a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). UC Santa Barbara reserves the right to require official transcripts at any time during the admissions process, and rescind any offer of admission made if discrepancies between uploaded and official transcript(s) are found.

The Department of Mathematics offers graduate studies leading to the Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Area requirements include algebra, analysis, applied mathematics, geometry/topology, and other areas in probability and statistics. Students whose primary interest is in the area of statistics or probability should instead apply to the Department of Statistics and Applied Probability. The Department of Mathematics offers degrees in pure and applied mathematics, including data science.
