You must submit an official record of academic performance for the equivalent of 9th, 10th, and 11th grades under the US system. All official documents must be accompanied by a verified English translation if the original document is not in English. Include any certificates, diplomas, or examination results marking the completion of secondary education or preparation for higher education (i.e., O- or A-level or IB exam results).
Applicants should typically receive a minimum of 100 total for the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with preferred sub-scores of 26 (Reading), 26 (Listening), 22 (Writing), and 25 (Speaking). A score of 7.0 or higher on each band is expected on IELTS. A composite score of 120 or higher is expected for the DET with preferred.

Mathematics is a way of defining and solving problems by combining logic with insight, and by finding patterns and structure. It's an art that ties together the abstract structure of reason and the framework of quantitative and qualitative models in the natural and social sciences. At Hopkins, youll have access to travel grants, a network of support, and opportunities to publish your work in the oldest mathematics journal in continuous publication in the Western Hemisphere.<br>At the time of graduation, math majors should:<br>Have a good working knowledge of the language of mathematics as embodied in the basic constructs of mathematics in the fundamental areas of algebra, analysis, and geometry<br>Be able to analyze the logical structure of a scientific or mathematical problem and to develop a meaningful approach to a solution<br>Be able to read, understand, and construct a well-formed proof<br>Develop the mathematical maturity and skills necessary to extend their knowledge through self-study and independent research<br>Be able to apply mathematical methods to solve research problems arising outside of mathematics<br>Be able to formulate precise mathematical statements and questions
