For admission to this program, you must have completed a bachelor's degree with a strong mathematics GPA. You must also complete the following content core requirements for your intended teaching certification area, as regulated by the New York State Education Department, prior to enrollment:
30 credits of acceptable mathematics content at a Calculus 1 level and above, including two semesters of calculus.
We review all applications individually and holistically, but our expectation is that successful candidates for admission to any NYU Steinhardt master's program in teacher education will have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate grade point average. Special consideration may be granted to strong candidates with a GPA below 3.0.
You must have the equivalent of a regionally accredited four-year US bachelor's degree to be considered for admission. Upload one official copy of transcripts from every postsecondary school you have attended or are attending. Successful candidates achieve a band score of 7. Successful candidates score a 100 on the Internet based exam or 600 on the paper based exam.

Prepare for a career as a middle and high school mathematics teacher by taking courses in math content knowledge and pedagogy, including classes at NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.
