This program is open to all students with a high school diploma or GED and the desire to succeed in college. Although admission is open, students accepted into the program must meet the academic standards of the program to advance to upper levels of study.
As a first-year student, you will need to take an English and mathematics placement test if you have not obtained the minimum ACT/SAT score required for exemption.
Proof of English Ability Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Duolingo: 100 overall, 100 Production score, 100 Conversation
TOEFL: 79 iBT, 15 sub-score, 20 - writing, 20 - speaking
Cambridge: 176, recommended exam - C1 Advanced
IELTS: 6.5 overall, 5.5 sub-score, 6 - writing, 6 - speak
SAT-I: 480 evidenced-based reading & writing
ELS: 112 graduation

Middle childhood educators teach students in grades 4-9 in Ohio. They guide students to delve deeply into academic content while supporting social and civic engagement. Pre-Middle Childhood Education majors must specialize in two content areas selected from: English language arts, mathematics, science, or social studies. As an aspiring middle school teacher, this program will help you understand the complex human and social factors involved in educating students, as well as practices that support diversity and lifelong learning. A bachelor's degree in education is the minimum requirement to become a teacher. As an associate degree program, UC Clermont offers freshman and sophomore coursework with the expectation that students will transfer to the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services on our Clifton campus to complete their preparation and earn a bachelor's degree.<br>Middle childhood educators teach students in grades 5-9 in Kentucky.
