To be eligible for admission into the Master's program in Pure Mathematics, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university. To be considered English language proficient, the College of Science and Health requires a score of at least 80 on the iBT TOEFL with a minimum score of 17 on each section, 213 on the computer-based test, 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, or at least 6.5 on the IELTS. ​​​Supplementary application materials (writing sample, personal statement, letters of recommendations, etc.)

The Master of Science in Pure Mathematics program at DePaul University is one of the few evening programs of its type offered in the Chicago area. It provides students with rigorous training in pure mathematics as well as a solid foundation for pursuing PhD-level graduate work in mathematics. The program is intended for students whose career goals will be furthered by graduate-level training in mathematics, including students who plan to pursue a PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field, or students who wish to teach mathematics at the community college level.
