English is the primary language of instruction in all Faculties except Facult Saint-Jean. All undergraduate applicants to any program or course except Facult Saint-Jean need an adequate level of English language proficiency before admission, regardless of their citizenship status or country of origin. The University of Alberta reserves the right to use discretion in determining adequate levels of language proficiency to ensure success in academic programs.
Graduation from a recognized degree program offered by an accredited university at which English is the primary language of instruction or in a country where English is the primary language.
A score of at least 90 on the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language - Internet-based) with no less than 21 on each band.
A score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System) with no band less than 6.0.
A score of at least 70 on the Canadian Academic English Language assessment: CAEL (paper) or CAEL CE (computer) with no band less than 60.

This program allows you to study a diverse mix of courses in mathematics, including Computing Science, Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, and Statistics, preparing you to teach at the junior high and high school level. This combined program allows you to complete two degrees from the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Education a Bachelor of Science (with Specialization) and a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) in just five years, preparing you to become a high school or junior high teacher in your area of expertise. The Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta delivers high-quality programs that investigate, explain, and explore the real science behind issues that affect our daily lives.
