Experience in special education, general education, or a related field.
Statement addressing endorsement you are pursuing, current teaching certificates, current special education endorsements, identify your professional goals and explain why an additional special education degree is sought.
Three professional letters of reference.
International students must submit a CELCIS transcript with a minimum grade of BA or a TOEFL score of 550 or better.
Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL 80 iBT graduate.
TOEFL Essential 8 Graduate.
International English Language Testing System IELTS Academic - 6.5 graduate.
Pearson Test of English Academic Module PTE - 54 graduate.

Students may focus their studies on obtaining a special education teaching endorsement in autism spectrum disorder (ASD), emotional impairments (EI), or learning disabilities (LD) or a master's degree as a behavior intervention specialist. All options are based on competencies from the Council for Exceptional Children and/or the Michigan Department of Education. Upon admission, students are assigned an advisor. Prior to taking classes, students must meet with their advisor to develop a graduate program of study and complete an endorsement evaluation.
