a bachelor’s or master’s degree at a regionally accredited college or university in the US, or the equivalent of such degrees in another country, will be considered for admission.
The Graduate College requires as a minimum standard a “B†average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, in a program of study resulting in the award of a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Applicants who have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale can be considered for provisional admission.

Two Letters of Recommendation. Must submit the name and email of two persons who are well acquainted with the applicant’s undergraduate academic work, the applicant’s potential to do graduate work, and/or the applicant’s professional competence.
Statement of Purpose. Include a formal written statement, at least one page in length, of why you want to pursue a Master's degree in Special Education in Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Behavior Disorders. Additional experiences with individuals with disabilities and career aspirations.

The graduate program in special education is designed for candidates who wish to pursue an endorsement in Special Education. Candidates completing the program meet the academic requirements for a special education endorsement (K-6 or 7-12). Candidates can complete a Master's degree by completing 36 graduate credit hours. The mission of the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders is to prepare dedicated practitioners, reflective scholars, and responsible citizens who are unique in their ability to facilitate, design, implement, and evaluate programs for individuals with disabilities. This is accomplished by creating opportunities for the acquisition and maintenance of knowledge, skills, and dispositions as prescribed by the Council for Exceptional Children, the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (for graduate program only), and state and federal regulations.
