The B.S. degree in Multidisciplinary Studies allows students to develop a degree program around academic themes or niche areas that fall outside traditional disciplinary boundaries and helps support student achievement of personal academic and career goals. This degree combines courses from three different disciplines, one of which must be housed in the College of Sciences or the College of Engineering, into a coherent course of study to meet career and educational goals. UTSA's Artificial Intelligence degree allows students to study multiple fields such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, electrical and computer engineering, and information systems. Artificial Intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by computer systems which includes machine learning, reasoning, and self-correction. Companies like Apple, Amazon, Tesla, Netflix, Google, and others use artificial intelligence for speech recognition, voice-powered personal assistants, self-driving vehicles, and robotics.
