Standardized Test Scores are Optional for all Majors Including Nursing. If you are 23 years of age or older you are not required to submit SAT I or ACT scores, but you may be asked to take an alternative aptitude examination at the request of the Admissions Committee.

Letter of Recommendation: Your recommendation may be from a guidance counselor, teacher, or advisor concerning academic ability and character. Specific requirements exist for:

Adults returning to school after an extended time: obtain a letter of recommendation from an employer or professional in the community.
Home-schooled applicants only:
Submit an academic portfolio consisting of graded work. Specific requirements include an English essay, science project/lab/report, and a social sciences research or analytical paper.
Accepted tests and minimum required scores are: Duolingo (100), TOEFL (61), IELTS (5.5)

Rivier's Liberal Studies program offers you the flexibility to tailor your degree to your individual career interests. You will gain insight into a variety of topics along with significant study in a humanities discipline of your choice, from the fields of art history, history, language, literature, philosophy, or religious studies. As a Liberal Studies major, you can expect to acquire a well-developed capacity for independent thought, the ability to think, write, and speak critically, and an appreciation of the past as a backdrop for understanding contemporary life and society. For greater flexibility, Rivier offers both an Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberals degree. Our liberal arts-centered programs are widely recognized as valuable not only in producing a well-rounded, truly educated person, but also in providing a strong foundation for any number of careers in our rapidly changing world.
