(this is also where you apply for graduate assistantships) Portfolio: 20 examples of recent work in JPEG or PDF format. Dimensions of JPG images should be no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi and no larger than 2 MB maximum. Files should be named lastname_firstname_01.jpg (Your last name, the image number and the file extension).
Image List: Please provide a Word Doc or PDF file with the title, year, medium and dimensions of each work submitted below. Please use a corresponding number with each image file name and image list entry. Filename should be lastname_firstname_imagelist.(pdf,doc,docx)
CV/Resume: Please provide a Word Doc or PDF file with your most recent curriculum vitae. Filename should be lastname_firstname_cv.(pdf,doc,docx)
Artist Statement: Please provide a Word Doc or PDF file of your artist/designer statement. Filename should be lastname_firstname_statement.(pdf,doc,docx)
A 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average - GPA - or above (on a 4.0 scale) is required to be academically admissible. The Graduate School calculates the last 90 quarter hour or last 60 semester hour GPA.
A score of 213 or above on the computer-based TOEFL, A score of 79 or above on the Internet-based TOEFL. a minimum International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS) academic score of 6.5 (scores should be no more than two years old at the time of application) Admission to CWU requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Some programs will allow a bachelor of applied science degree.

The Department of Art and Design offers a Master of Fine Arts degree for students interested in studying visual art beyond the baccalaureate level. The degree requires that candidates complete three years of coursework in art concepts and criticism, art history, a studio area of concentration, electives, and a creative thesis project. The 90-credit Master of Fine Arts (MFA) is a terminal degree program providing students with professional levels of competency and experience in studio art. The MFA program qualifies students for careers as teachers in higher education, as professional studio artists, and for other studio-arts-related vocations
