Students who obtain the four-year Construction Science and Management degree (CSM) have a wide range of professional construction industry career opportunities in the office and the field.<br>The Department of Construction Science maintains a close partnership with the construction industry through its Construction Industry Advisory Council (CIAC). In addition to providing a significant number of scholarships, sponsoring service projects, mentorship, speaking in classes, and offering part-time and full-time employment, the CIAC also sponsors a variety of social events: mixers, tailgating, cook-off, sports, competitions, and field trips, among others.<br>A signature experience for a KCEID student includes an internship, a research project, a study abroad program or a service learning project. By completing any one of these experiences, you will be applying knowledge you learn through classwork and developing marketable skills to chart your course towards a Bold Future.<br>The School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and Construction Management offers an ACCE-accredited bachelor's degree in construction science and management that combines courses in construction science, design, and business to educate managers for the construction industry. The minimum number of semester credit hours required for the degree, including Core Curriculum requirements, is 120, at least 39 of which need to be at the upper-division level. Students obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Construction Science and Management pursue management careers in a wide variety of occupations throughout the construction industry. The degree also provides students with the opportunity to continue with their studies in a graduate program.
