B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent.
Mature student status (19 years or older).
One of the following:
Completion of any Mathematics 10 (or higher grade) or equivalent (including Foundations of Mathematics, Pre-calculus, Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics, MATH 072, or MATH 076) with a grade of C or better.
Successful completion of a UFV trades math entrance exam.
UFV Accuplacer Reading comprehension score of 80 or better, together with Accuplacer WritePlacer score of 5 or better on the 8-point scale.
UFV CPT (Composition Placement Test) - score of 41 or higher.
English Language Requirements:
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - IBT score of 88 with no section below 20, or paper-based score of 570 with a TWE (essay) score of 4.5 or higher.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Academic format - score of at least 6.5., with no band score less than 6.0.
MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) - score of at least 85.
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) - score of at least 70.

UFV's Joinery program will prepare students for entry into trade and the provincial apprenticeship program. Sample topics include:<br>Reading and interpreting drawings<br>Using joinery shop equipment<br>Applying layout techniques<br>Assembling cabinets<br>Applying finishes<br>Installing hardware<br>CAD drafting for furniture design and cabinet making<br>Programming and operating CNC (computer numerical control) equipment<br>Graduates can earn credit for their ITA Level 1 Joinery apprenticeship.<br><br>###Covid Alert Message from University – This course is offered online and will continue on campus later.
