This construction management programme provides you with the skills and understanding of principles, practices and ethics in the construction industry within a national and global context as expected from a bachelor's degree graduate.<br>Throughout the course, you learn the core construction management skills you need throughout a project lifecycle, including the role of the circular economy and digital technology in the construction industry.<br> Digitisation is shifting how we build and operate assets. As a design or construction professional you are required to organise, analyse and understand increasing amounts of data - this change of role is highlighted by the current and past UK regulations and standards, for example the ISO EN 19650 series, the UK BIM mandate, BS PAS 1192 series and BS 8536 series.<br>This course consists of six main strands of knowledge across the three years sustainability, building information management, procurement, technologies and modular construction, and construction management. These are informed by one of the most research-active teams in the University. Examples include ongoing projects and collaboration with successful knowledge transfer partnership projects with companies such as Norscott, Vikander, Ryder Architects, Unasys, Spa Architects, and organisations such as the Qatar National Research Foundation with the Qatar BIM project, which developed a whole lifecycle process assessment for the Qatar Construction Industry in using BIM.<br><br>Length: 3 years (or 4 with work placement)
