5 GCSEs at grade D, or grade 3, or above and evidence of two years post-GCSE study at Level 3.
If you have achieved at least grade E in one A level, or equivalent, you are exempt from the two years post-GCSE study requirement, but you still must meet the GCSE requirements.
Applicants who do not meet the two years post GCSE study at level 3 may be considered based on their satisfactory employment history, which must be a minimum of two years full time employment supported by employer evidence and deemed appropriate by the University for meeting the course of study applied for.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 5.5 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.

Studying Architecture at ARU, Define what architecture can do for a sustainable life on the planet, and learn how to succeed in architectural practice, with our RIBA accredited and Architects Registration Board prescribed degree course. Study on a course (BA Hons Architecture) developed in line with industry standards, accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Part 1 prescribed by the Architects Registration Board (ARB). Expand your knowledge by participating in an optional European field trip each year to cities such as Lisbon, Venice, Rome and Vienna, or applying for one of our Turing Programme summer scholarships to work in Barcelona or study in Venice for four weeks.<br><br>Our Live Briefs are designed to give exposure to real-world project scenarios and practicing professionals, to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Connect and engage with practitioners through our regular extra-curricular workshops, guest lecture series, annual practitioners event, and End of Year Show. Utilise our dedicated studios and workshop facilities to learn how to draw, make models, and use all relevant software and digital techniques.<br><br>From the design of a family home to an entire city, architects help to shape the world we live in. Youre fascinated by the built environment, and have ambitions to create spaces that are innovative, meaningful and purposeful. By studying BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) Architecture at ARU, youll gain the theoretical, technical and design skills to do this and to work as a professional architect. But you wont be restricted to the studio. Youll go on site visits so you can analyse the language and style of buildings, their construction, and see projects taking shape in real life. Together, well explore building design, buildability and sustainability.<br><br>Your future career is important so youll learn about the construction business and project management. We have a network of visiting designers, artists, historians and theorists who deliver workshops, lectures and tutorials. You can also choose to take a placement as part of your BA (Hons) Architecture degree, and gain industry experience. We make sure your course is relevant to the real world, by helping you to engage ethically, politically, and sustainably with the changing landscape of the built environment, better preparing you for the world of work.
