English is the primary language of instruction in all Faculties except Facult Saint-Jean. All undergraduate applicants to any program or course except Facult Saint-Jean need an adequate level of English language proficiency before admission, regardless of their citizenship status or country of origin. The University of Alberta reserves the right to use discretion in determining adequate levels of language proficiency to ensure success in academic programs.
Graduation from a recognized degree program offered by an accredited university at which English is the primary language of instruction or in a country where English is the primary language.
A score of at least 90 on the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language - Internet-based) with no less than 21 on each band.
A score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System) with no band less than 6.0.
A score of at least 70 on the Canadian Academic English Language assessment: CAEL (paper) or CAEL CE (computer) with no band less than 60.

This program examines the economic, social, political, and legal issues associated with environmental issues. Youll develop quantitative and analytical skills in economic theory, and youll gain a framework for assessing and influencing environmental economics and policies. Our BSc in Environmental and Conservation Sciences degree in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences gives you the opportunity to study and develop real-world solutions for environmental issues such as land conservation, water conservation, biodiversity, and adaptation to climate change.
