English is the primary language of instruction in all Faculties except Facult Saint-Jean. All undergraduate applicants to any program or course except Facult Saint-Jean need an adequate level of English language proficiency before admission, regardless of their citizenship status or country of origin. The University of Alberta reserves the right to use discretion in determining adequate levels of language proficiency to ensure success in academic programs.
Graduation from a recognized degree program offered by an accredited university at which English is the primary language of instruction or in a country where English is the primary language.
A score of at least 90 on the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language - Internet-based) with no less than 21 on each band.
A score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System) with no band less than 6.0.
A score of at least 70 on the Canadian Academic English Language assessment: CAEL (paper) or CAEL CE (computer) with no band less than 60.

The Environmental Science program at Augustana focuses on the natural sciences and offers an outdoor or experiential education component, giving you a connection to the physical environment, people, and organisms impacted by our society. Augustana is a small campus located in Camrose, Alberta, just one hour southeast of Edmonton. This liberal arts and science campus is home to just over 1,000 students from across Canada and around the world. Augustana offers degree programs in an intimate and personalized setting, with an average class size of 22 people.<br><br>Each semester is comprised of a three-week session studying a single course, followed by a more traditional 11-week session studying up to four courses. This gives you the opportunity to dive deeper into research, travel, and other experiential learning endeavors, while at the same time reducing stress and workload.
