The GES degree program offers a holistic, scientific approach to the study of the Earth and Earth's integrated physical, chemical, biological, and human systems. In the course of their scientific studies, the students are able to investigate natural as well as economic, policy, and social systems and their response to, and interaction with, the Earth system. As an added benefit, GES students also conduct a faculty-mentored research project, write a thesis, and orally present their research results at a public symposium.Graduates of the Bachelor of Science Degree Program in Global Environmental Science (GES), administered by the Oceanography Department in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology of the University of Hawai‘i.
