You are eligible to apply as a graduate student if you have earned a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree.
You must have completed a four-year college course of study and hold an acceptable baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional accrediting association or an equivalent academic preparation before enrollment in the program.
Be in good academic standing at the last college or university attended.
Official Transcripts are required from the university where the bachelor's degree is earned. Submit a word-for-word certified English translation along with the Official original-language transcripts.
Have earned a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.5 from the last degree completed by the candidate or have attained a grade-point average of at least 2.5 (A=4.0) in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted.
Above average class standing at an internationally accredited college or university: the equivalent of at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale is recommended.

The Master of Arts in Geography provides advanced study in human and physical geography with an emphasis on theory and research. Graduates are prepared in the application of interpretive and analytical concepts and techniques to a broad spectrum of geographic situations. Such study directly serves those whose careers involve urban, regional and environmental planning and geographic education. Geographic perspectives and methods are highly applicable to a wide range of careers in business, industry and government. The Master of Arts in Geography enables students to conduct original research involving geographic problems. Students gain a deeper understanding of the spatial processes and patterns of physical and human geography, and the complex interactions between humans and the natural environment. The program prepares students for a wide variety of career paths, including education, environmental analysis, resource management and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
