If you are graduating from a high school outside of the United States, your application will be reviewed on the following admission criteria Completion of high school/secondary level. A certified copy of graduation certificate or diploma will be required prior to enrollment at SDSU. Review the Requirements by Country for country specific information.
A minimum U.S. equivalent GPA (grade point average) of 3.0 (B grade or 80 percent) or higher.
English Proficiency: If you are attending or have attended a high school where English was not the primary language of instruction, you must meet university-level competence in English through one of the following:
TOEFL Passing score is 80 iBT and 550 paper or higher.
IELTS Passing overall score is 6.5 or higher.

This emphasis focuses on the various methods used by geographers to represent and analyze geographic information about the natural and social world. These methods include cartography, geographic information systems, remote sensing, spatial statistics and qualitative analysis. Students in this emphasis will learn how to apply skills and use contemporary technologies to solve problems and conduct research. Students interested in the development of new geographic methods may consider the Bachelor of Science degree in geographic information science and technology, which requires additional courses in computer science.<br><br>A degree in Geography (Environment, Society, and Technology) provides you with the education and skills to pursue a wide range of career options.
