Advanced Standing - To be considered, you must apply to and meet the Admission Requirements for the Geographic Sciences program. Advanced Standing is based on academic credits (certificate/diploma/degree) completed from a recognized public institution within the past ten years that meet the Academic Requirements of the full first year of the program. Advanced Standing is subject to seat availability.
IELTS: minimum score of 6.0 on each test (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking).

The Community & Environmental Planning concentration is a second year option of the Geographic Sciences diploma program. If you're interested in learning how you can make a difference by helping to apply environmentally sustainable approaches to community and regional planning, then the Community & Environmental Planning Concentration will appeal to you. You learn how to work in a team environment, providing a variety of mapping, research and other technical functions to support community, regional and environmental projects and policy development. Building expertise in data analysis, problem-solving and the use of geomatics applications to support decision-making is a primary focus. Off-campus field work, where you get involved in community projects, is an integral part of the concentration.
